In this book we will focus on SILAT, the martial arts of the Malay archipelago (Malaysia, Indonesia and other countries). Traditionally the people of these countries considered Silat as dances, musical performances, martial arts which were closely associated with their culture that includes shamanism, folk medicine, mysticism and other practices.
The author of the book is well acquainted with the national traditions and customs of Malaysia. He refers to Silat as Sufi martial arts, because historically these martial arts were actively practiced in the Sufi orders of Malaysia.
